✑ About Galera
Galera is a personal interpretation of Eras®, shaped by nostalgia and a deep appreciation for the craft behind this 1960s French classic designed by Albert Boton and Albert Hollenstein.
Drawn from the ground up, Galera builds on the key traits of the original while introducing smoother transitions across weights, more restrained proportions in the heavier styles, and subtle gestures informed by brush practice. The result is sharper and brighter, with a clarity that feels well suited to contemporary digital environments.
Designed primarily for display use, signage, and digital environments, Galera brings presence and character at large sizes while maintaining solid performance in medium text settings and remaining usable at smaller sizes. Its expressive but balanced features and consistent drawing create a steady rhythm across applications, while the variable font allows for finer adjustments across different contexts.
The character set has been expanded to support a broad range of Latin-based languages, and includes arrows, additional symbols, and OpenType features.
